About The Life Plan

The Life Plan is the culmination of the wisdom, love, and generosity of dozens of mentors, coaches, pastors, friends, family members, and advisors who have profoundly shaped the life and mission of Tim Pierson.

As a young husband and father, Tim faced a pivotal question: how could he and his family ensure that they would live a life of meaning and significance—one that would leave a lasting impact? He wrestled with defining who he wanted to be as a man, husband, father and friend, and how to live a life aligned with his deepest values. Overwhelmed by endless possibilities, Tim sought clarity to ensure his choices reflected his family’s own passions, talents, and values.

Drawing on insights from countless advisors, books, coaches, pastors, and other resources, Tim developed a framework to filter decisions, helping him and his wife discern when to say "yes" and when to say "no" to opportunities as they arose. For the past 20 years, Tim has been asked to teach this Framework to both professional and community groups. As he has, he gathered feedback, refined the material, and ultimately created the framework that has now become the The Life Plan.

The Life Plan framework has been a cornerstone for Tim and Liz in building their family's identity and mission. Looking back, Tim and Liz credit about 75% of what they’ve accomplished, personally and professionally, to the clarity and direction this process provided.

His vision is for The Life Plan now is to provide a self-paced tool to empower others to answer two essential questions: “Who am I?” and “Where am I going?” By offering a clear path forward, he hopes to reduce stress, strengthen families, and enable people to make the greatest positive impact possible in their communities and beyond.

In addition to creating The Life Plan, Tim served as the Chaplain for the Washington Nationals Baseball Club for 11 years, culminating in the World Series win in 2019. He served the players, families, and staff as they attempted to live lives of meaning and significance in the environment of professional sports. Tim also runs one of the top real estate teams serving the Washington, D.C. metro area, manages several investment projects, and volunteers with area youth.

Through his work and The Life Plan, Tim helps clients achieve their long-term personal and financial goals while building strong communities. His mission is rooted in honoring God and serving people, both through real estate and by helping families align their lives with their values and aspirations.

Tim and Liz live in the Northern Virginia area with their three daughters and their golden retriever, Brinkley. Together, they remain deeply committed to helping others live lives of meaning, impact, and joy.
